Iron Horse Brews Up a Susquehanna Spin On NEPA’s Craft Beer Scene
Recently, we made our way to Susquehanna in search of vibrant, stunning foliage. And the quaint river town in the farthest northern reaches of NEPA delivered in spades. Soon, the hypnotizing swing of route 171 lured us toward the center of town. As we passed through, I happened to catch, through a glass garage door, that unmistakable shine of bright tanks.
Could it be!? Was someone cooking up craft beer all the way out here?
Indeed, they were. Right there on West Main Street, we found Iron Horse Brewing Company. The fairly new brewpub initially opened up in March. Mitigation restrictions due to Covid-19 made for quite a few slow months, but they stuck it out. And, today, the spacious, open air pub welcomes craft beer lovers from all over Pennsylvania and beyond.
Alongside a stable of incredible craft beers, Iron Horse features an extensive menu of pub classics. Pair their hefty Turkey Woods Double IPA with a gourmet burger or specialty pizza. Run the sudsy gamut with a flight that ranges from the perfectly tart Bugling Bull Gose to the expertly balanced Chocolate Jalapeño Stout. Then, when it’s time to hit the road, grab a 4-pack to go.
We brought our camera along for the ride and snapped some glamour shots of those beautiful beers. Take a look. And, keep an eye out for more from Iron Horse Brewing Company on the DiscoverNEPA Brewer’s Loop.
