Exploring the Electric City’s Creative Side
On Friday, August 2, we visited First Friday Scranton, a monthly art walk that showcases local artists and musicians. Downtown Scranton’s restaurants, shops, businesses and galleries hosted art exhibits and live music all evening.
A total of 28 venues participated in this month’s First Friday festivities. From photography, paintings and sculptures to performance art and book signings, the event covered all areas of NEPA’s arts and culture scene. There was even a car show on the 100 block of Wyoming Avenue.
It was also opening night of the Scranton Jazz Festival. Visitors enjoyed special concerts, and wandering musicians strolled through the city.
