Tour Highlights Historic Gems & Gorgeous Gardens of Scranton
On Sunday, June 26, the Lackawanna Historical Society teamed up with the Greenhouse Project to give a sneak peek into four Scranton neighborhoods. Beyond the Hill: A Tour of Our Favorite Places and Plantings presented the unique chance for participants to learn more about the history of the city while also getting a glimpse into some hidden gems and private gardens.
Participants could follow a self-guided tour or take the trolley bus to visit 11 different tour sites scattered throughout East Mountain, Nay Aug Park, North Scranton and downtown Scranton. Each site had their own distinctive stories, from revitalization projects at the Laceworks Village to green spaces at Sweeney’s Beach.
What better way to learn more about the area? We set out on a journey, and of course, we brought the camera along to capture it all. Check it out!
