Clarks Summit Displays “Artful Bear” Statues

The Gathering Place in Clarks Summit has launched the first-ever Bears in the Summit Festival. Local artists have decorated 11 “Artful Bears” and displayed them all around town. The festival kicked off on July 24 and continues through July 31.

The bear statues are actually foam archery forms. But when they’re painted, they turn into wonderful works of art. Visitors can stroll through town to admire the bears and enjoy free family activities at The Gathering Place.

The festival is the perfect way to celebrate the arts and explore the charming downtown streets. Many local businesses are offering specials and sales to celebrate. You can also join the Bear Hunt Bingo by collecting stickers at 12 local shops. Turn in your bingo card at The Gathering Place for a chance to win a giant, stuffed bear.

Later this week, the festival will also include live music, a coffeehouse with the artists, children’s activities and a silent auction to win two of the bears.

Don’t miss the chance to see these beautifully decorated bars. A map and event schedule are available.
