Summer's Sweetest Treat is Ripe and Ready
What’s better than a basket of fresh-picked blueberries on a summer’s day? Nothing really. Well, except if you picked ’em yourself. There’s just something about heading out into the patch and filling up your bucket that makes them taste all the sweeter.
Luckily for us, now and in the coming weeks of July, local u-pick berry farms will open their fields and welcome us blueberry-lovin’ pickers. Blue fingers and a whole bunch of vine-ripe berries are the sweet reward for a classic day of NEPA farm fun. Then, it’s time to make all the blueberry recipes.
Check out these blueberry farms while they’re ripe for the picking. Typically, the season runs until at least late August (or the berries run out), but picking conditions depend on Mother Nature. So, be sure to check social media or call ahead for the latest updates and operating hours.
