Get Ready for Carnivals, Concerts, and Festivals This Weekend

Start your weekend off with a free concert at Wilkes-Barre’s Rockin’ the River event. Enjoy live music from opener Joe Nardone’s Rockology and headliner Yellow Brick Road. Pittston’s Second Friday Art Walk makes for a fun Friday night out. Admire the artwork from over twenty local artists as you walk Pittston’s Main Street.

The family fun continues at Skirmish Paintball in Albrightsville. Their Invasion of Normandy event welcomes thousands of players, WWII re-enactors, and fans as they recreate the largest seaborne invasion in history. The Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company is hosting its 93rd Annual Carnival. Stop by for a night filled with thrilling rides, games and carnival favorites like funnel cake and fried Oreos.

The NEPA Rainbow Alliance is hosting its March to the Park event at Kirby Park. The event is a Pride Festival complete with a parade, music, local vendors and more. The event will also host a 5K run/walk, and don’t miss the march across the iconic Market Street Bridge. Yuengling invites you to celebrate its 190th Anniversary with a free summer concert in Pottsville. Enjoy music from rock band Better Than Ezra along with plenty of cold Yuengling beer. And whether or not you ride, or simply enjoy the thrill of the race, you have to check out Saturday’s Pocono Road Race. This grueling cycling event pits riders against brutal climbs and the rolling hills of the Poconos.

NEPA’s got the summer blues. The Briggs Farm Blues Festival is back and better than ever. Enjoy live music from over twenty artists and plenty of delicious food. The Pickin’ for Patriots Bluegrass Festival combines good food, music and charity. All event proceeds will benefit Patriots Cove. Don’t forget to dip your toes in the Delaware. The Shawnee Riverfest will feature music from 18 local artists. There will also be plenty of food vendors, and bounce houses and face painting for the kids.
