Get a Preview of the Holidays with Bright Lights and Seasonal Marketplaces
With darkness falling earlier, embrace the season with events that light up the night. Pile in the car as Stone Hedge Golf Course opens their dazzling Festival of Lights drive-thru light show. Experience nature after dark with a Full Moon Hike at Salt Springs State Park. Then make your way to Downtown Wilkes-Barre to catch the annual Christmas Parade before illuminating Public Square at the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Speaking of holidays, get a head start on the festivities. Celebrate Friendsgiving at Mountain View Vineyard by sampling classic Turkey Day dishes paired with delicious wines. Check a few names off your gift list at NEPA CraftWorks’ Fall Into The Holidays Handmade Market at the Wyoming Valley Mall. Or, literally Catch the Holiday Spirit at Rohrbach’s holiday marketplace.
As always, there is plenty of live entertainment in NEPA this weekend. Head to the Mohegan Sun Arena for two nights of incredible talent. Bluegrass superstar Billy Strings takes to the stage on Friday, then the Trans-Siberian Orchestra celebrates 25 Years of Christmas Eve and Other Stories on Sunday.
Don’t miss a once in a lifetime performance by Talking Heads tribute band Start Making Sense at Mauch Chunk Opera House. End the weekend by spending a night with some of musical theatre’s biggest stars as Broadway Returns to the Stroudsmoor.
