Keep Those Fall Vibes Coming All Weekend with Apple Festivals, Spooky City Tours, Haunted Houses and More

Get the whole family into the spirit of the season with a weekend visit to the Halloween Light Show at Lakeland Orchard & Cidery. Check out our list of scary (and not-so-scary) Haunted Attractions to help get you in the spooky mood. Or, take it easy, bring the camera out to the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale and enjoy a ride on the Pocono Foliage Express all weekend.

Fill up on everyone’s favorite fall fruit during the Annual Apple Festival at Heller Orchards on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday or Saturday, stop by the Mahoning Drive-In for their festive, annual celebration of the Middle Ages during Medieval Mahoning. And don’t miss the music-filled, Rocktoberfest on Saturday and Sunday at the Lehighton Borough Park.

Discover the creepy stories behind some of Wilkes-Barre’s most iconic landmarks on a Downtown Ghost Walk presented by the Luzerne County Historical Society on Friday and Saturday. Head to Dickson City’s Circle Drive-In for their famous NEPA Horror Film Fest on Saturday. Then, stop by Jim Thorpe during the weekend for one of the most popular Fall Foliage Festivals in NEPA.

Of course, October in NEPA isn’t just about apples, foliage and Halloween. It also marks the start of ice hockey season! Catch the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during their home opening weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Pocono Foliage Express

    Throughout October (Departure Times at 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.)

    Enjoy a 1.5-hour round trip, fall foliage excursion on the famous Stourbridge Line in Honesdale. The trip carries passengers along the stunning Lackawaxen River to view the changing leaves of the eastern Pocono Mountains.
