Embrace the Spirit of Fall this Weekend with Fairs & Festivals, Light Shows and Spooky City Tours

Start your weekend with a visit to Hawley for the quaint Pocono town’s annual Harvest Hoedown all weekend. Spend some time at one of Pennsylvania’s largest celebrations of agriculture, food, entertainment and more at the Bloomsburg Fair. On Saturday, grab your bike and head out to the D&H Trail for the Rail Trail Council of NEPA’s Biketoberfest.

Bring the kids out to Lakeland Orchard and Cidery in Scott Twp. all weekend for this awesome apple-inspired Harvest Festival. Gather your friends and test your courage at one of NEPA’s terrifying haunted attractions all weekend long. Then, hop aboard the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale on Saturday and Sunday for the stunning Pocono Foliage Express.

Stop by Hazleton on Friday for the Mountain City’s popular First Friday celebration. Don’t miss the extraordinary Drive-In Laser Light Show at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond all weekend. Then, lace up and get to Frances Slocum State Park on Saturday morning for the annual SPCA Walk for the Animals.

It just wouldn’t be fall in NEPA without a visit to one of the region’s most iconic small towns. Make your way to Jim Thorpe all weekend for train rides, shopping, food and craft vendors and scenery at the ever-popular Fall Foliage Festival.

    Wednesday, September 29 – Sunday, October 3 at 10 a.m.

    Stop by Downtown Hawley for this small-town, fall festival. The festivities include a fall pub crawl, scarecrow display contest, hayrides and a petting zoo, a costume contest and plenty of live music all week long.

  • Apple Harvest Festival

    Thursday, September 30 – Sunday, October 3 at 10 a.m.

    Spend an autumn afternoon at Lakeland Orchard and Cidery in Scott Township during their annual celebration of all things apple. The fall festival features seasonally-inspired treats, fun & games for the kids and over 25 apple varieties for pickin’.

  • The Drive-In Laser Light Show

    Thursday, September 30 – Sunday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m.

    Load up the car and head out to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond for this spectacular laser light show. The light show is choreographed to music and features special effects and large screen laser projection. Bring your own blankets, chairs and refreshments.

  • Biketoberfest

    Saturday, October 2 at 12 p.m.

    Join the Rail Trail Council of NEPA for their annual celebration of fall with a scenic ride on the D&H Trail. Choose a 10 or 20-mile ride, or just ride on your own. Enjoy live music, refreshments for purchase from Cable’s General Store and plenty of fresh air.

    Saturday, October 2 at 9 a.m.

    Lace up your sneakers for this annual fundraising walk at Frances Slocum State Park in Wyoming. Help raise funds to support the efforts of the SPCA of Luzerne County. Enjoy complimentary pre- and post-walk refreshments. Dogs welcome.

  • Pocono Foliage Express

    Saturday, October 2 & Sunday, October 3 at 3 p.m.

    Enjoy a 1.5-hour round trip, fall foliage excursion on the famous Stourbridge Line in Honesdale. The trip carries passengers along the stunning Lackawaxen River to view the changing leaves of the eastern Pocono Mountains.
