Load Up on Fun this Weekend with Live Music, Fairs & Festivals, a Celebration at the Lake and More
Save room for funnel cakes all weekend long at one of NEPA’s classic county fairs. Board the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale on Friday and embark on a sweet summer journey on the Ice Cream Express. Then, stop by Wilkes-Barre’s River Common on Saturday morning for a little relaxing Riverfront Yoga.
Head to Lakeland Orchard and Cidery all weekend long for live music, seasonal treats, cider and plenty of fun during their popular Sunflower Festival. Make your way to Scranton on Saturday morning to cheer on the brave cyclists tackling Olive Street during the 2nd annual Electric City Classic Hill Climb. And on Sunday, bring the kids down to the Hazle Twp. Community Park for “touch-a-truck,” food, craft vendors and more at the Hazleton Area Children’s Festival.
Enjoy a day of great wine, food and grown-up fun at West Wyoming’s Moonlite Drive-In as they host their Rhythm & Wine event to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEPA. Load up the whole family on Sunday and head to McDade Park in Scranton for pony rides, games, food and more at the Carnival for Kids. On Sunday Afternoon, don’t miss live local music at Karl Hall in Wilkes-Barre during their iconic Out Back concert series.
Celebrate Lake Wallenpaupack and the many towns that make up the Pocono’s Lake Region from Friday through Sunday at Wally Lake Fest. Enjoy shopping, dining, live concerts on the lake and so much more at this famous end-of-summer bash.

Bring the camera to Lakeland Orchard & Cidery in Scott Twp. for this popular summer festival featuring fields filled with over 15 varieties of sunflowers. The festival also offers tasty treats, slushies and ice cream. Admission includes one sunflower.
Wally Lake Fest
Friday, August 27 – Sunday, August 29 at 10 a.m.
Celebrate Lake Wallenpaupack all weekend long at this annual festival featuring live music on the water, a boat show, vendor fairs, food and craft stands, special events and so much more. Free shuttle service is provided between festival locations.
Ice Cream Express
Friday, August 27 at 6 p.m.
All aboard the sweetest train ride in town! The Stourbridge Line will depart from Honesdale, stop in Hawley for an ice cream sundae break, then head back along the scenic Lackawaxen River. This two-hour ride is perfect for kids and the young at heart.
Rhythm & Wine 2021
Saturday, August 28 at 12 p.m.
Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEPA at the Moonlite Drive-In in West Wyoming for this popular, outdoor festival featuring some of the region’s finest wineries, cideries and breweries. The event also features local food vendors and live music.
Electric City Classic Hill Climb
Saturday, August 28 at 5 p.m.
Make your way to Olive Street in Scranton for the second installment of this exciting cycling event. Watch amateur and professional cyclists take on the infamous Olive St. with its daunting stretch of cobblestone at the steep finish.
Hazleton Area Children’s Festival
Sunday, August 29 at 11 a.m.
Bring the whole family for a day of fun at the Hazle Township Community Park. Free activities and a “touch-a-truck” event will keep the kids busy all afternoon. There’s plenty of fun for parents too with craft vendors, food, tricky trays and more.
Carnival for Kids
Sunday, August 29 at 12 p.m.
McDade Park in Scranton will be filled with entertainment, food and games for the entire family. There will also be pony rides, carriage rides, a petting zoo, vendors and more. The carnival benefits the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Out Back at Karl Hall
Sunday, August 29 at 3 p.m.
Catch the fifth concert of this summer-long, live, outdoor music series in the parking lot behind Wilkes-Barre’s premier concert venue, Karl Hall. This weekend’s show will feature University Drive, Toothless, Gods of Space and Machine Arms.
