Say Goodbye to July with Music Festivals, Live Shows and Late Night Adventures
It’s time to go out with a bang this last July weekend. Luckily, NEPA has plenty of events to keep the fun rolling. Close out the month with two of the area’s biggest music festivals. The Wildflower Music Festival brings a mix of genres to the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary on Thursday and Saturday. And Rockin’ the River lights up the stage at Wilkes-Barre’s River Common for its final Friday night concert in the series.
Catch some live theatre Friday night at the Scranton Shakespeare Festival. Between Shakespearean adaptations and classic musicals, this festival has a show for everyone.
Wine & beer connoisseurs, we’ve got you covered. All weekend long, the Hop On, Hop Off Wine Tour allows guests to visit the best wineries and vineyards the Poconos has to offer. And Schuylkill County Brew Fest, hosted by Pilger Ruh Brewing, celebrates a number of local breweries on Saturday.
The 60s & 70s make a comeback with live music. Bennie & The Jets brings the style and sound of Elton John to the Mauch Chunk Opera House on Saturday night. And the “Happy Together” Tour relives the summer of love on Sunday at the F.M. Kirby Center with the help of the era’s biggest bands.
Adventurous souls hit the ropes on Friday night at Blue Mountain’s Night Time Zip & Climb. The youth take over Montage Mountain Waterpark on Saturday during the popular Kids Swim Night. And when it’s finally time to slow down, a leisurely ride on the Pocono Express is the way to go all weekend.
