Embrace your inner foodie at the Wilkes-Barre Greek Food Festival, which opened on Tuesday and continues through Friday night. Put some miles on your sneakers at the Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival on Saturday and Sunday. They’re hosting five races through the breathtaking Pocono Mountains. On Friday, kick off the concert season with Kenny Chesney at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Start saving up your appetite now. The Wilkes-Barre Greek Food Festival serves a taste of the Mediterranean, from gyros to kabobs and everything in between. Don’t forget the heavenly baklava for dessert! The festival began on Tuesday and continues through Friday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on East Ross Street. The festival opens at 11 a.m. each day.
Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival
Hit the trails at the Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival. The festival kicks off on Saturday with a half-marathon. The race starts at the top of Flagstaff Mountain and leads past Mauch Chunk Lake and the Asa Packer Mansion. On Sunday, sign up for the 5K, 10K, 15K relay, or kids’ fun run at Upper Owl Creek Reservoir. Races start at 8 a.m. each day.
Join the laid-back country crooner at Wilkes-Barre’s Mohegan Sun Arena as he sets off on his Songs for the Saints 2019 Tour this Friday. This more intimate, scaled-back tour will be making only 18 stops. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see one of today’s biggest country music stars.

Due to weather, Second Friday is now Sunny Saturday! Main Street in Pittston will be a hub of arts and culture at the art walk that has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 11th.
