NEPA Weekend Round-Up 04.09.21

Spring in NEPA Means Drive-In Movies, Farmers’ Markets, River Trips & More

The warmer weather and sunshine are really putting us in a spring state of mind. Pick up the season’s latest produce at the South Side Farmers Market in Scranton, or discover nature’s wonders at the First Spring Hike at Salt Springs State Park in Montrose. Dust off your sneakers and join the Bearly Spring 5K at ShawneeCraft Brewing, or take the kids on an outdoor adventure at Salamanders, Frogs & More at the Pocono Environmental Education Center. And don’t miss the return of the rafting season at Whitewater Rafting Adventures in Nesquehoning.

After all that adventure, you deserve to treat yourself to a night out. On Friday and Saturday, take a tour at Black Rock Brewing Company in Pottsville during their Sneak Peek Week. Raise a glass at Wally Wine Fest at Silver Birches, where they’ll have seated wine tastings and small plates. Watch the Live Harness Racing at Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre, or rock the night away at Mauch Chunk Opera House with SoulShine, an Allman Brothers tribute band.

Mother Nature’s coming back to life, and so are the arts! Head to The Mahoning Drive-In Theater this weekend for their double feature of The Blob. Or stock up on fresh reads at the Spring Book Sale at the Valley Community Library in Peckville. For aspiring artists, the Hazleton Art League is kicking off their Introduction to Drawing Anime workshops this Saturday.
