NEPA Weekend Round-Up 03.18.22

Hello, Spring! Welcome the Season with Hiking, Fishing and More Parades

Spring starts on Sunday, and what better way to celebrate than with a weekend of outdoor fun? Lackawanna State Park hikes into the new season with a 2-mile trek featuring beautiful springtime views. Hickory Run State Park introduces the art of fly fishing to beginners, just in time for warmer weather.

You can always find great live entertainment in throughout the area, and this weekend is no exception. Don’t miss the most epic Pink Floyd tribute band, Brit Floyd, as they hit the F.M. Kirby Center stage with an electrifying show. Catch Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root at the Milford Theater during a unique Uprooted Duo performance. And vote for your favorite act at the F.M. Kirby Center as they host Luzerne County’s Got Talent, the area’s very own talent competition.

The Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade is on for this weekend, with plenty of Irish fun for the whole family. Then, stick around for Scranton PorchFest where Electric City residents showcase art and put on performances from their front porches. Or start a new tradition in Schuylkill Haven, as floats and performers hit the streets for the borough’s first St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hit the ice at the Mohegan Sun Arena with matches against Syracuse Crunch and Utica Comets. And runners take their marks at Penn State Wilkes-Barre for the chance to say goodbye to winter (and take home some prizes) at the Winter’s End 4.5 Mile Run.
