The Grand Bank – Ashley, PA

Celebrate your next event in style with classically, repurposed vintage elegance.

Located at 23 North Main Street in Ashley, The Grand Bank is a wedding and events venue focusing on celebrations up to 100 guests for seated weddings and 175 guests for cocktail-style weddings. In addition to weddings, the historic venue also hosts corporate events, art openings, pop-up markets, birthday parties and more. Their wedding services include elopements, micro and intimate weddings, and they even have rental and office spaces available.

The Grand Bank is set within Ashley’s iconic First National Bank. It’s widely recognized as one of the town’s first Main Street buildings. Though the building has been updated, much of the original, 1920s charm remains. The classically repurposed venue offers a nostalgic journey into Jazz Age opulence. From extravagant marble pillars and an original teller-station-turned-bar to the iconic vault and so much more, The Grand Bank has it all. There’s even a custom photo booth created from original safe deposit box viewing rooms.

 

 

The woman behind it all.

When Ashlee Martinelli opened The Grand Bank, she fulfilled a childhood dream. The young entrepreneur had always wanted to run her own event space. She cut her teeth in the events industry with her very successful planning company, Every Little Thing LLC. For Ashlee, The Grand Bank was simply the result of a natural career progression.

“I’ve always loved serving others and helping people to plan and host events,” Martinelli says. “Since I was young, I wanted to have a space to host parties – somewhere people could enjoy celebrations together without worrying about how to manage all of the details.”

 

 

Adapting and evolving during COVID-19.

As a wedding and special events facility, the past year has forced The Grand Bank to adapt and get creative. Keeping clients safe as they connected and celebrated became priority number one.

“Keeping a positive attitude and a can-do mentality was huge for us,” says Martinelli. “I took this rare ‘down’ time to connect with industry pros, focus on research, continuing education, and to further build these elements into the business.” It was a long year of keeping up with regulations, reassessing and reimagining how they would host events. And, for Martinelli, it was all worth it. “All of these initiatives allowed us to continue to grow and adapt.”

The Grand Bank took to implementing the latest planning tools available and releasing them to their clients during the pandemic. They were able to utilize a new opportunity to plan even more efficiently and effectively.

“I wanted to focus on upgrading and improving our systems while continuing to put emphasis on exceptional services,” says Martinelli.

The Grand Bank team got creative and began building safe, small, ticketed events for the public. They developed styled shoots, which gave their team the ability to collaborate with some really incredible creative pros in our area.

 

 

Weddings reimagined.

Despite postponing receptions, some couples still wanted to get married on “their day.” This led to popular social media campaigns like #savethewedding and #vownowcelebratesoon.

Creating custom elopement and micro wedding packages was the response—and their couples loved it!  They could take time now to say their vows, and continue planning for their wedding reception when the time was right.

Some clients chose to elope. Some hosted smaller, more intimate micro weddings. All events adhered strictly to federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines. According to Martinelli, they have been some of the most beautiful events that The Grand Bank has ever hosted.

“While the changes have been so large, stressful, and difficult…these adjustments truly make me love what I do even more,” says Martinelli. “Understanding the rules/regulations and helping our couples navigate the confusing and difficult waters is so incredibly rewarding.”

For Martinelli and The Grand Bank team, getting creative and pulling together these unique, small-scale events has been quite an adventure. “We are just so happy to be in that role for our clients.”
