A little snow and ice won’t stop you from soaring down the waterslides and catching some waves at NEPA’s indoor waterparks. We’re home to four parks right here in the Poconos, including Kalahari Resorts, the largest indoor waterpark in America.
Indoor waterparks make the perfect oasis on snowy days and holiday weekends. Each park is packed with activities for the entire family, from thrilling waterslides to play areas for the little ones. And the aquatic attractions are just the beginning. These epic resorts also have arcades, spas, premier dining, luxurious rooms and more, all under one roof.
Pack your swimsuits and treat the family to a winter getaway. Whether you visit for the day or spend the night, a trip to an indoor waterpark makes the perfect NEPA staycation.
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions
At 220,000 square feet, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Pocono Manor is America’s largest indoor waterpark. The park will take you on an African adventure with their safari-themed rides and play areas. You’re sure to catch an adrenaline rush on the slides, which can reach speeds up to 40 miles per hour, or test your surfing skills on the Flowrider. Parents can take a tropical retreat at the swim-up bars and hot tubs.
Day passes are available, but when you see all that Kalahari has to offer, you’ll want to stay the night. In addition to the waterpark, they also have indoor mini golf, bowling, escape rooms, a spa, an arcade, a 7-D motion theater, a laser tag arena and a fitness area.
Kalahari is open year-round. Come back in the summer to visit their outdoor waterpark and the Gorilla Grove ropes course and zip lines.
Camelback Resort Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
This explorer-themed waterpark features 13 slides and 7 pools. Be sure to ride Storm Chaser, which is cross between a water slide and a roller coaster. You’re sure to scream at Paradise Plunge, a free-fall body slide that will send you plummeting down a 60-foot vertical drop. Kids of all ages can go on an adventure through the enormous interactive play area.
Waterpark admission is included when you stay at the resort. Guests have easy access to Camelback’s ski slopes and other amenities like the arcade, an escape room, laser tag and rock climbing. Day passes are also available and must be purchased 24 hours in advance.
Great Wolf Lodge
Gather up your pack and head to Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun. This indoor waterpark is a great option for families with younger kids, who will love the play areas, kiddie pools and character visits. There’s plenty for teens and adults too, like the epic Hydro Plunge roller coaster slide. Some of their slides are four stories tall!
While you’re there, check out the arcade, indoor glow golf, fitness center and kids’ activities. Pick out a magic wand and explore the lodge with MagiQuest, an interactive game that will transport the kids into a land of dragons and fairies.
For even more fun, book a camping-themed room complete with a cabin for the kids. Day passes are also available.
H2Oooohh! Indoor Waterpark
H2Oooohh! Indoor Waterpark at Split Rock Resort is packed with rides and slides, including some that are four stories tall. Surf’s up at the Flowrider wave simulator. They also have plenty of attractions geared toward younger children, like the jungle-themed play area and a wave pool.
In the winter, H2Ooooh! is open on weekends and holidays. Special packages are available for resort guests, including waterpark admission and access to Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas. Day passes are also available.
