Explore the Wyoming Valley with the Luzerne County Levee System, which features 12 miles of trails that run along the Susquehanna River. The system includes four distinct sections in Forty Fort, Kingston, Plymouth, and Wilkes-Barre/Hanover Township. These paved trails are perfect for jogging, biking, or walking the dog.

Need to rest? The trails run through Kirby Park, Nesbitt Park, and the River Common. If you’re searching for excitement, watch planes take off at the Wyoming Valley Airport or visit Wilkes-Barre’s lively downtown. And the fun doesn’t end when winter arrives! Children of all ages will love sledding down the levee’s slopes.

Several public parking lots are located along the levee system. Parking is also available in nearby Kirby Park and Nesbitt Park.

Accessibility

Accessible parking is available at trailheads on Wyoming Avenue in Wyoming, Church Street in Kingston, and Flat Road in Plymouth. Reserved parking spaces are also available at Kirby Park.
