NEPA’s Haunted Hayrides & Spooky Walk-Throughs Deliver All the Frights
It’s time to get creepy, NEPA. Behind the scenes of local haunts, dozens of dedicated volunteers, actors and artists work tirelessly to create a memorable experience. The costumes get scarier every year, and the sets always end up creepier than before. And yet, we keep coming back, even though we swore we never would.
Get in the spirit of the spooky season at one of NEPA’s popular haunted attractions!
Dickson City, PA
Any other time of year, it’s just a simple, old-fashioned drive-in movie theater, but, every fall, Dickson City’s Circle Drive-in is crawling with ghouls and freaks. This season’s haunts are “Griffin Asylum” and “Twister Acres Haunted Hayride.”
Wilkes-Barre, PA
Join the Luzerne County Historical Society for their annual tour of Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s landmark haunts. Walk through the historic district while hearing ghost stories and unsolved mysteries. Reservations must be made beforehand.
Jim Thorpe, PA
Search for spirits on a tour of Jim Thorpe’s most iconic spots and haunted locations. Led by a costumed guide, you’ll hear the chilling stories and mysterious legends on this hour-long walk around the historic town.
Wilkes-Barre, PA
A killer is still at large. Do you dare explore the home where a vaudeville troupe met their demise? This interactive live theater haunted house experience welcomes only the bravest guests to tour these haunted grounds.
Palmerton, PA
Enter if you dare the bloodiest, most interactive haunted attraction in NEPA. Halls of Horror in Palmerton promises a blood-curdling, terror-inducing walkthrough experience every Friday & Saturday from mid-September through October. Fair warning: this is an adult experience. Anyone under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a release form.
Pottsville, PA
Choose your own adventure at the Schuylkill County Historical Society’s haunted history tour. The Baber Cemetery Tour leads guests through the 160-year old graveyard. Later, the Gallows Tour takes brave souls through the Schuylkill County Prison, Courthouse and City Hall. Reservations and pre-payment are required.
Wapwallopen, PA
This isn’t your everyday haunted attraction. At Council Cup Campground, you can battle zombies in paintball, take a hayride deep into the woods or wind your way through a haunted corn maze. Dare to experience one or all of the above for an evening of frights.
Hallstead, PA
Hellstead Manor is full of terrifying surprises. In the Victorian mansion you’ll venture through “The Swamp of Sorrows” while even more scares await outside in the “Wretched Woods” walk-through.

You’ll still have to cross through Pitch Black and the post-apocalyptic Sector 13 to make it out alive.

The Lackawanna Historical Society shares terrifying tales of mysteries, mayhem and murder at Scranton After Dark. This guided walking tour will show you the city’s spooky side. Tickets must be purchased in advance online.
Stroudsburg, PA
Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in Stroudsburg is usually a peaceful place. During the last weekend in October, however, the quaint village becomes the scene of a gruesome murder. Help solve the crime as you meet suspects and gather clues.
Lehighton, PA
