Greater Scranton YMCA

Over a Century and a Half of Health, Wellness, and Social Responsibility

Strengthening the Fabric of the Community

For over 160 years, the Greater Scranton YMCA in Dunmore has been the center of fitness, fun, education and community. This historic, nonprofit organization offers affordable early education programs, summer camps and day care. The “Y” also features full health club membership, and a wide variety of non-member programs. From swim lessons for children and adults to sports for youth and teens, you can find it all at the Y.

Early childhood education is one of the signature programs at the Greater Scranton YMCA. They offer programs for infants, toddlers, and a full day preschool program for children up to age 6. All of the Y’s teachers are certified to deliver appropriate curricula that adheres to Pennsylvania early learning standards. All levels of the Early Learning Center use the Y’s classrooms, pools, gym and state-of-the-art, outdoor playground.

The Y also features a comprehensive fitness facility. Membership includes access to free weights, cardio equipment, racquetball courts, two pools, group exercise classes, and so much more. Choose from a long list of health programs, from senior fitness classes to diabetes prevention. You can even schedule workouts with certified personal trainers.

For the teachers, trainers, staff, members, and children, the Greater Scranton YMCA, is more than just a gym.
