Have Some Classic Country Fun at NEPA's County Fairs
Late-summer nights, midway lights and the sweet smell of funnel cake…we all know what that means. For well over a century, NEPA county fairs have been capping off summer festivities with rides, games, live entertainment and, of course, plenty of delicious food. And with this year’s statewide theme being “Growing the Future,” it’s safe to say these celebrations of agriculture and community won’t be going away any time soon.
You can find a county fair every week in August and keep the good times rolling through September. Take a look at our list and see how many you can check off before the season ends.

Schuylkill County Fair
July 31 – August 5
Celebrate 40 years of Schuylkill County Fair fun with all your favorite festivities. Live entertainment includes local groups and cover bands, truck and tractor pulls and livestock auctions. Be sure to pay a visit to a few food and craft vendors while wandering the fairgrounds.

Wayne County Fair
August 4 – 12
Since 1862, the Wayne County Fair has been bringing farming traditions and fun to Honesdale. With their Pay One Price deal, you get parking and admission to rides and a handful of grandstand shows for only $12.

Carbon County Fair
August 7 – 12
From live music to demolition derbies, the Carbon County Fair truly has it all. Spend your afternoon hitting up all the food trucks and vendors before catching some evening entertainment, including the TikTok famous Micro Wrestling.

Harford Fair
August 14 – 19
The small town of Harford goes big when county fair season arrives. With 165 years behind this family-favorite fair, there’s no doubt they know what they’re doing when it comes to rodeos, demo derbies and more midway fun.

West End Fair
August 20 – 26
The best of Monroe County convenes at the iconic West End Fair, from award-winning farm animals and homemade pies to local musicians and dance teams. Hit the grounds in Gilbert, grab something to eat and explore everything the fair has to offer.

Greene Dreher Sterling Fair
August 25 – September 3
For more than 100 years, the Greene Dreher Sterling Fair has been the end-of-summer event for the families of Newfoundland. The tradition lives on with another year of tractor pulls, farm animal shows and all the classic fair festivities you know and love.

Wyoming County Fair
August 30 – September 4
Consider your Labor Day weekend booked and busy because the Wyoming County Fair is back and better than ever. Head to Meshoppen for six days of farming demonstrations, petting zoos, live music and more old-school fair fun.

Luzerne County Fair
September 6 – 10
Classic country fun comes to Dallas when the Luzerne County Fair opens its gates. Get your thrills on midway rides before filling up on potato pancakes and NEPA pizza. End your night with stunt shows, live music and spectacular fireworks displays.

Bloomsburg Fair
September 22 – 30
Close out fair season with a bang. The beloved Bloomsburg Fair, Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural fair, attracts nearly 400,000 visitors over the course of 9 days. Join the crowd for delicious, weird, one-of-a-kind family fun.
