The PA CareerLink® at Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties supports employers looking to meet their hiring needs and connect job seekers with resources they need to secure long-term employment. Read below to learn about three local employers who are actively hiring in NEPA!

PA CareerLink® Day

In honor of Workforce Development Month, PA CareerLink® recently hosted a momentous event that brought together our communities across our Hazleton, Pottsville, and Wilkes-Barre offices. The purpose was to empower individuals with the tools and resources needed to succeed in the job market. PA CareerLink® Day, held on Tuesday, September 12th, was a resounding success, and we want to share the highlights and the essence of this impactful day.

PA CareerLink® Day was more than just an event; it was a celebration of our dedication to workforce development. In collaboration with our partners and the community, we came together across our Hazleton, Pottsville, and Wilkes-Barre offices to create an environment where job seekers, employers, and community partners could connect, learn, and grow.

 

Key Highlights of PA CareerLink® Day

 

 

  1. Live Broadcasts by Local Radio Stations: Throughout PA CareerLink® Day, the airwaves came alive with live broadcasts from three local radio stations, each adding its unique style to the event. Magic 105.5 (Hazleton), T-102 (Pottsville), and Rock 107 (Wilkes-Barre) joined the festivities, infusing the event with a vibrant atmosphere and reaching a wide audience.
  2. Media Coverage by El Mensajero: El Mensajero, our trusted media partner, was present at our Hazleton office to capture every moment, ensuring that the event’s impact would reach a wide and diverse audience.
  3. The Food Dignity Movement: Adding to the event’s richness, The Food Dignity Movement set up a stand at our Wilkes-Barre office, providing fresh, wholesome produce to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of community support. Their ‘pay what you can, take what you need’ initiative embodied a true spirit of equality for all.
  4. Community Resources: Participants across our Hazleton, Pottsville, and Wilkes-Barre offices had access to a wealth of community resources, covering a spectrum of needs, including employment opportunities, educational guidance, and various essential services.
