30 Wonderful Years of NEPA Baseball

Join the Railriders in 2019 as They Celebrate Three Decades of Professional Baseball at PNC Field

Since 1989, NEPA summers have been all about baseball.

From The Red Barons to the SWB Yankees to the RailRiders, professional baseball has made itself right at home in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  To celebrate the 30th anniversary of professional baseball at PNC Field, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders aim to honor NEPA’s dedicated fans. This means a season’s worth of special giveaways, ticket deals, and best of all, daily promotions. With the best baseball and incredible daily deals, every day is a great day for a ballgame at PNC Field.

From April 26th to May 2nd, the RailRiders will face their opponents at home. A seven-game stretch on home turf offers fans the perfect opportunity to get out and watch the RailRiders play. Look for special deals on food and drinks at the stadium, help local charities, and even bring your pup to the park to cheer on your favorite team.

The PNC field experience.

Baseball is more than just a game at PNC Field – it’s an experience. Nestled atop Montage Mountain, the stadium showcases the lushness of the woods surrounding it. The stadium’s 360 degree concourse allows you to soak in the majestic scenery of the Poconos. Stroll through the famous NEPA Honda Dealers’ “Homer Zone.” Along the paved walkway stretching between right and center field, enjoy panoramic stadium views and the exposed mountain boulders. With the game to your left and the woods to your right, this memorable feature sets the park apart.

Where there’s baseball, there’s beer.

The right side of the field offers more than just scenery. This side of the ballpark is home of the Budweiser Railhouse, specializing in savory smoked barbecue and cold drinks. Eat, drink and sit in your very own bar stool tiered seat as you watch the ballgame. Reserve tickets for a seat at the Railhouse for easy access to drinks, or simply walk up to their open bar. All are welcome.

PNC Field knows how to do fun.

As you move towards center field, there’s one thing that’s sure to catch your eye – a giant, inflatable, Champ-shaped bouncy house. This is how you know you’ve reached The Fun Zone. PNC Field loves fun and it’s something they do well. Kids are welcome to The Fun Zone from the time gates open to the end of the game. Bounce around, shoot some hoops, and show off your strong arm at the speed pitch booth. You might even run into the real Champ– no one loves fun more than he does!

Food with all the works.

In addition to your baseball mitt, bring your appetite to the game. Indulge in all the classic ballpark food – hot dogs, burgers, nachos, pretzels, and more. Treat yourself to a cut of Revello’s, NEPA’s very own Old Forge-style pizza. With food, games, and souvenir stops along the way, your journey around PNC Field is sure to be a pleasurable one.

Serving the Community Beyond the Batter's Box

Professional baseball in Northeastern Pennsylvania has always been about more than just the game. Regardless of which team took the field over the past 30 years, serving the community has been a benchmark of their success. From players getting involved with local non-profit organizations to amazing charity events held at the stadium all year, the Red Barons, the SWB Yankees and the RailRiders have a long history of going to bat for NEPA. And now you can join them.

Hometown Heroes

Since their inaugural season in 2013, the RailRiders have been committed to honoring Hometown Heroes. The popular tradition continues in 2019. At every home game this season, the RailRiders plan to recognize heroes in our community who step up in times of crisis. Heroes can be local active or former U.S. Military members, EMTs, teachers, nurses and first responders to name a few. The heroes and their families will receive four reserved seats for the game. They will also be recognized on the stadium video board and have the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Friends, co-workers, and families of local heroes are encouraged to submit their heroes’ service stories to the RailRiders.
