Embrace the Leap from Winter to Spring All March Long
From a wintry chill to springy sunshine and back again, March weather in NEPA runs the gamut. One day you’re bundled up and the next you’re breaking out the shorts. Whether you’re holding on to winter or embracing the first signs of spring, NEPA events bring the fun for every temperature.

The Kirby Center presents Shakespeare like you’ve never seen (or heard) him before. Led by composer and pianist Daniel Kelly, this innovative show gives a fresh perspective to The Bard’s masterpieces.

Downtown Bloomsburg's First Friday
March 3
You won’t want to miss downtown Bloomsburg’s first First Friday of the season. Pop into businesses along Main Street and check out local vendor stands. Head to Brewskis for a live performance by The Feelers to close out the night.

First Friday Scranton

Kick off the weekend with a night on the town at Scranton’s First Friday. Check out pieces from local artists spread throughout the city and catch some live music at restaurants, shops and businesses while you’re out.

Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway Ride
Saturdays & Sundays
There’s no better way to take in some early spring views than by train. Venture through Lehigh Gorge State Park on a short, scenic ride where you can sit back and enjoy the changing of the seasons.

Mountainfest
March 3 & 4
Mountainfest is back and bigger than ever. This two-day festival features the Annual Cardboard Classic and performances from 90s alt-rock legends Everclear, Lit and Fuel. Montage Mountain teams up with WMMR 93.3 to present this rad event.

Winter Fest
March 3 – 5
No matter the weather, Blue Mountain Resort is celebrating all things winter. The annual free festival is back and better than ever. Hang out with the USA Luge Team, compete in winter games and catch some live music without leaving the mountain.

Public Maple Sugaring Days
March 4 & 11
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Meesing Outdoor Site with this 90-minute tour and sap tapping demonstration. Join the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center to experience the process of turning fresh sap into the sugary condiment we all know and love.

Creativity at the Courthouse
March 4
The Luzerne County Courthouse welcomes local artists for an inclusive art show. This community event features live entertainment, food from local vendors and, of course, beautiful pieces on display.

Purim Carnival
March 5
Celebrate Purim with the Scranton JCC. This Star Wars-themed carnival brings games, music, food and even a costume contest to downtown Scranton. All are welcome, so break out your favorite costume and join the fun.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
March 8, 10-11, 17, 25-26, 29
With spring right around the corner, hockey season is nearing its end. Don’t worry, you still have a few chances to root for the Pens at Mohegan Sun Arena. Catch matches against the Toronto Marlies, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Utica Comets, Rochester Americans and Hartford Wolfpack this month.

2023 Spin-A-Thon
March 11
Spin for a good cause at the Greater Pittston YMCA. With a morning full of classes taught by expert instructors, you’ll get an intense workout while supporting families in need. Funds raised go towards scholarships for the Y’s Early Learning Center Toddler Program.

Scranton St. Patrick's Parade

You can always count on Scranton to go big for St. Patrick’s Day. With 12,000 participants, it’s one of the largest parades in the country, so expect to party hard. From morning mass and a 2-mile run to the day’s main event, there’s plenty to celebrate.

Kilts on Wheels Pub Crawl
March 11
Pub crawl in style with the help of the Jim Thorpe Trolley Company. Hit up some of downtown Lehighton’s hottest bars, pubs and restaurants by way of vintage trolley. This is a hop-on/hop-off tour, so passengers can come and go as they please.

Wilkes-Barre City's 43rd St. Patrick's Day Parade
March 12
Get to the Square early and reserve your spot in front of Boscov’s because Wilkes-Barre’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back for its 43rd year. Local businesses, musicians and entertainers hit the streets for a whole afternoon of fun.

Dropkick Murphys
March 14
Headbanging and Irish step dancing are both appropriate at a Dropkick Murphys concert. The Mohegan Sun Arena hosts the Boston natives for a special St. Patrick’s Day performance.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story

The world’s greatest folk duo is reunited (kinda) at The Simon & Garfunkel Story. This immersive theatrical show takes audiences on a journey through an illustrious career. You’ll feel like you’re seeing the real deal right at the Kirby Center.

With completely reimagined choreography, set design and costumes, Riverdance gets a new life at the Broadway Theatre. Don’t worry, you’ll still get the award-winning score and high-energy performance, just updated for 2023.

Luzerne County and Beyond Got Talent

See what the rising stars of Luzerne County (and beyond) have to offer at the 2nd annual all-inclusive talent show. The F.M. Kirby Center hosts 25 finalists performing a variety of acts.

Following in the footsteps of their inspirations, Killer Queen comes from across the pond to rock out with Queen super fans. This incredible tribute brings Queen’s arena anthems and beautiful ballads to life at the Scranton Cultural Center.

Baseball is back, baby. Kick off the season at PNC Field as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders take on the Buffalo Bisons in their first home game of 2023.
